In preparation for our 2019 summer study abroad program, we’re featuring each destination of our itinerary here on our blog! The first half of our Summer in Europe program includes Barcelona (Spain),  Paris (France), Geneva (Switzerland), and Chamonix (France). Now, onto stops 5-7: Lake Como (Italy), Lugano (Switzerland), and Milan (Italy)!

Departing Chamonix in the morning, we’ll stop in Lake Como, Italy and Lugano, Switzerland before arriving to Milan for our 4-night stay. In Lake Como, you’ll have the chance to explore and enjoy a coffee or lunch while taking in the iconic views. In Lugano, we’ll have class at Franklin University Switzerland followed by free time along Lake Lugano, where you can rent a pedal boat! That evening, we’ll arrive to stop #7: Milan, Italy.

Milan is known as a fashion capital, but it’s so much more than that! It’s also a financial hub and home to the famous Duomo di Milano, beautiful Teatro alla Scala Opera House, and Leonardo da Vinci’s “The Last Supper.”

The official language in Milan is Italian and the currency is the Euro. Our hotel is located nearby the Milano Centrale train station, where you can also access the metro system. You’ll use this train station to travel for weekend day trips or excursions to Cinque Terre, Venice, or other nearby destinations. On Monday, we’ll have a professional visit at UniCredit Bank – the UniCredit Tower is the tallest building in Milan, and in all of Italy!
