In preparation for our 2019 summer study abroad program, we’re featuring each destination of our itinerary here on our blog! So far, we’ve shared the details on our time in Barcelona (Spain), Paris (France), Geneva (Switzerland), Chamonix (France), Lake Como (Italy), Lugano (Switzerland), and Milan (Italy)! Stop #8 is none other than the Eternal City: Rome!
Rome is known for being a cultural and historical hub. Between ancient landmarks, gorgeous basilicas, charming cobblestone streets, and one iconic fountain, you can’t go wrong with your free time in Rome! We’ll make our way to Rome by train from Milan, and visit the Coliseum for photos before sunset.
The official language in Rome is Italian, and the currency is the Euro. Classes will be held in the hotel conference center.
If you’re interested in visiting the Vatican Museums, we recommend planning a visit on Wednesday afternoon, July 24th. You can book your visit online here and we recommend choosing a time slot after 2 PM.
Our hotel is located within walking distance of the Roma Termini train station, which you can use for local transportation by way of the metro system, or for regional transportation to Florence or other nearby cities for independent weekend excursions.
